Artist Statement

I want my work to show my belief that life is too strict. Art should push the boundaries that daily life restricts you from. I want to show this by making the overwhelming chaos feel calming and controlled. While exploring the element of surprise, the unexpected, and the unknown. Along with finding ways to show the unexplained reasoning why you find something intriguing or beautiful.

I want my art to tell a bigger story than just itself. It should inspire the viewer and encourage others to take a risk. It shouldn’t just be pleasing to the eye but a collection of moments in time. Creating art is a way for me to reflect on those moments. I am also inspired by the butterfly effect where the collection of small, insignificant events can lead to an unpredictable outcome. I want the viewer to question their own internal conflicts and to evoke the curiosity within.

MY work is influenced by loss and the random. Along with loneliness, independence, new relationships, a cover or mask to hide internal emotions, exploration, friendships, growing old, life and death. While also referencing the naturally occurring things in nature; organic verse geometric.
